Cozy Cottage

Cute and cozy best describes this home. Not much was needed here except a general spruce up. Just a bit of fresh paint, bright accents and some modern lighting gave this little cottage some personality.

I have found that a successful cottage design includes planning for both common family gathering areas and private spaces for individual contemplation and work. Although this house looked small from the outside, inside it had plenty of space for both activities. Entertaining and socializing was easily accommodated with a comfortable front room and adjoining dining and kitchen areas. A cozy den at the back of the house provided the perfect private escape. And a deck outside overlooking a beautiful backyard garden was the perfect place for cocktails at sunset and holiday BBQs.

Property Concerns

Paint

This house only needed cosmetic updates, so only a general cleaning and a new first floor paint palette was all that was required.

Basement Water

A floor entirely covered with water looked serious at first but turned out to be the result of a leaky water value. A wrench and new gasket did the trick.

Neglected backyard

An old and tired deck needed a few minor repairs and a good spray wash. The backyard garden had become overgrown and was in serious need of attention. Believe it or not, most of the labor was concentrated in this area, but the results were well worth the effort.
